Called VOMDA1271, “the component is available in a SOP-4 housing. The driver is the only one of its kind in this package size with an isolation voltage of 3.750 V [sic] and a typical open-circuit output voltage of 8.5V”, according to component distributor Rutronik, which is stocking the part.
8.5V is the typical output voltage (6.5Vmin) when driven with 10mA though the input-side LED, or 15μA typically (25°C, 8μA minimum) available if the output is short-circuited.
Output current capability can be increased by driving the input harder, up to 50mA max. The relationship is mostly linear (and somewhat temperature dependent), for example 35μA is typically available with 20mA though the input.
Driven at 20mA, turn-on time is typically 32μs while turn off is in 80μs – both with the output loaded with 200pF (equivalent to quite a small mosfet gate) in parallel with 10MΩ.
Operation is across -40 to +125°C.
Creepage and clearance of the SOP-4 package (7 x 5mm footprint) is at least 5mm.
UL, cUL, VDE and CQC approvals are all pending. “As per DIN EN 60747-5-5, 7.4.3.8.2, this optocoupler is suitable for ‘safe electrical insulation’ only within the safety ratings. Compliance with the safety ratings shall be ensured by means of protective circuits,” according to Vishay, which puts the isolation test voltage at 3.75kVrms.
