Digi-Key premiers Farm Different, Season 3

DigiKey is launching Series 3 of a video sequence entitled ‘Farm Different’, which explores agri-tech.

Digi-Key premiers Farm Different, Season 3

The series features three episodes that look into the future of farming to determine what innovations will power the next generation of global food production. For example, how robotics and autonomous vehicles are coming to the farm and also the integral data necessary to maximize yield sustainably.

The first of three videos in the series, “Agriculture’s Tech Revolution,” is already live on DigiKey’s website, exploring how farms – large and small – are using new technologies to improve the way they plant, monitor, and harvest crops.

The second video, “Planting the Seeds of Future Farms”, which is also available, looks at how new forms of energy management, connectivity, and electrification are laying the groundwork for tomorrow’s farming solutions. The third, “Exploring Intelligent Agriculture Solutions”, will explore the latest advancements in everything from drones to autonomous tractors, crop monitoring and precision farming methods.

The place to view them is on the DigiKey website. The series is sponsored by Analog Devices (ADI) and Amphenol Industrial.

“The agricultural community has never backed down when facing sustainability challenges,” said Josh Mickolio, supplier business development manager at DigiKey. “Navigating reduced labor pools, unpredictable weather and rising costs threatens growth in production and the survivability of small and large farming operations alike.”

“This season highlights the fertile future of smart farming, showcasing solutions that leverage the creativity, ingenuity and resilience this industry is known for.”

Farm Different

Season 2 of the distributor’s Farm Different video series was released in January 2023. The first video in the sequence, “Automating a Withering Workforce”, looks at how a shortage of farmers around the world has created the need for automated systems to fill the gap.

The second video, “From Farm to Table”, highlights technologies that can better monitor food through the supply chain to prevent excess waste. And the third video, “The Sustainable Future of Farming,” covers new innovations in agricultural technology that maximize efficiency.
