USA vs Apple

The antitrust lawsuit against Apple focuses on five areas: streaming, super-apps, cross-platform messaging, smartwatches and digital wallets.

In all of these examples, the US DOJ alleges, Apple used it position to put in place rules and policies that make it harder for non-Apple devices and services to compete with Apple’s own offerings, thus keeping users in the company’s (in)famous walled garden

  1. Ditto, venturing out into MS-world is dark, dirty and dodgy.

    • Compared with Google-world (Android), MS-world is a haven of tranquility.

      I think the problem has occured because Apple is now over 50% of all US smartphone sales, which at their extortionate prices tends to indicate Americans are a lot better off then your other article tends to indicate.

      • Yes, USA is handicapped in the median wealth comparison by the largest illiterate third world population in the industrial world. Normal people have it made in USA.

  2. I feel very safe and comfortable within the walled garden where things just work.
    I am also happy to pay for that privilege! It’s akin to living in a gated community in my opinion.
    Many, but not all, of my co-workers feel the same.
