Cree talks about tuneable white errors

Cree has been experimenting with tuneable white luminaires, and has published its findings in a couple of useful application notes.

One conclusion in both cases is that three-channel colour mixing achieves a wider colour temperature range for any given maximum deviation below the black body line, but at the expense of several factors, some subtle.


The links above are through the website of Cutter Electronics, which bought these two documents to the attention of Electronics Weekly, and also gave a tantalising hint of a forthcoming Xlamp XFL for flashights, possibly 20A led.
