16mm collimators that hide die pattern from Gaggione

Gaggione has introduced a 16mm diameter range of optical collimators for LED lighting, optimised not to image the die – giving a smooth beam as a consequence.

Gaggione-LLC22-collimator

Made in PMMA (acrylic) and called LLC22, they are “dedicated to single and multi-chip high power LEDs. The range is based on our patented non-chip-imaging technology. The LED chip will not be projected even with very small light-emitting surfaces [LES]”, according to the company.

  • LLC22N – Narrow version
9.8° beam (FWHM) (Cree XW-E HI) combined with 2,25mm2 single chip LEDs. Good homogeneity for white or single-chip colour LED.
  • LLC22M – Medium version
24° beam (Ostar Stage RGBW), applicable for both RGBW and tunable white applications
  • LLC22W – Wide version
35° beam (Ostar Stage RGBW) with homogenous colour mixing for RGBW and tunable white applications.
  • LLC22V – Very wide version
53° beam (Ostar Stage RGBW) with colour mixing capability where large surface beam and homogeneity are required.
  • LLC22….  Elliptical version, in pipeline, likely to be ‘LLC22E’

A product leaflet is here, that include beam data for various Cree and Osram LEDs
