With the base part number LE xx P1MS/AS (see table below for details), there are blue, amber, deep blue and green options. Each has a 6.8 x 7.6mm footprint.
“The LEDs have a very close etendue match with the 0.33inch DLP imager,” according to the company. “When used in a typical four-channel configuration, these LEDs produce an output of 880 lm on projector level.”
The package includes a copper metal-core PCB and has an isolated solder pad to remove the need for external isolation.
Thermal conductivity is high enough to allow 4.5A/mm2 current density in the amber version and 6.6A/mm2 in the others.
“In multi-channel configurations, the LEDs support serial connection with a low forward current, enabling the use of a simpler LED driver,” said Osram.
Electronics Weekly has requested further technical information.
As well as home theater projectors, use if foreseen in endoscopes, 3D scanners and machine vision.
