Coventry University turns to Tektronix for teaching lab

Coventry University has built an 53 workstation electrical and electronic engineering laboratory in its Beatrice Shilling Building, named after the British electrical and mechanical engineer.

Educational test equipment distributor of SJ Electronics supplied the instruments, all from Tektronix’ range.

Intended for for first and second year students, each station has:

TBS2074B 70MHz digital storage oscilloscope
AFG1022 25MHz arbitrary waveform generator
Keithley 2110 5.5digit digital multimeter
PC with TekScope analysis software

“For us it is vital to provide solutions to support engineering education in the ‘new normal world’, said Tektronix’ commercial v-p Maria Heriz. “For this purpose, we are providing our TekScope software which brings the oscilloscope analysis environment to the PC. Coventry University students will have the flexibility to perform analysis in the lab and continue their work outside of the lab.”

Coventry University was built the 1970 amalgamation of Coventry College of Art, Lanchester College of Technology and Rugby College of Engineering Technology.

Royal Holloway College in London also has a Beatrice Shilling building, in which it also houses its electrical engineering department.
