STEM Learning organisation assists classrooms with online resources

The organisation has launched an area on its website to host materials generated by itself and other trusted partners. “You can be confident that this is good-quality STEM content, as we’ve taken time to curate and assess it.”

The STEM Learning site will be updated regularly, so if any readers know of any resources that ought to be included, or areas that need to be addressed specifically, the organisation has asked you get in touch.

An education team, made up of subject specialists, is also available from 8.30am to 4.30pm on weekdays via a webchat link found at the bottom right hand corner of every page on the site.

A range of online CPD activities have also been made available, supplanting previously organised face-to-face sessions which have necessitated cancellation. The online CPD resources will remain free to use and will be continually extended, the organisation says.

Its also looking to move face-to-face sessions online through alternative methods like webinars. These will be announced and highlighted in email and social media updates.

The organisation also operates a programme called STEM ambassadors, through which volunteers from various employees take part in activities such as presentations, mentoring and careers talks, aiming to inspire and promote further interest in STEM subjects.

It has been transitioning to an online model over the past year, which means STEM ambassadors are still able to help. Ambassadors can register and do training online, and the organisation will be sending out opportunities over the coming weeks for how ambassadors can get help support teachers and young people virtually

Employers that want to work to reach out to schools remotely are advised to contact their local ambassador hub.
All the support is free and open access for anyone.
