The RTOS is integrated with hardware boards from Microchip (PolarFire Icicle kit) and SiFive (HiFive Unmatched board), processor intellectual property from SiFive and can be used with Microchip’s PolarFireSoC and Mi-V ecosystem.
“The integration of safety and security-critical RTOS Integrity into SiFive HiFive products is an exciting step forward for the RISC-V and SiFive ecosystem,” said SiFive CTO Yunsup Lee, co-inventor of RISC-V. “The market for trusted RISC-V-based solutions is growing rapidly and the support of Green Hills Software’s experience will create opportunities for the SiFive families of RISC-V-based IP.”
Integrity is based on a separation kernel architecture, claimed to provide resource guarantees and hard real-time determinism. Alongside runs the company’s ‘Multi’ debugger and IDE with its C/C++ compilers and analysis tools – capable of handling multiple heterogeneous cores, where the Risc-V core is either the main general-purpose CPU or a secondary special-purpose acceleration core alongside a CPU such as an Arm core.
“Start developing production-ready systems on reference boards to meet production requirements for performance, memory efficiency and functional safety through Integity and Multi solutions with their certifications at the highest levels of functional safety for automotive – ISO 26262, industrial systems – IEC 61508, and railway – EN 50128,” said Green Hills.
