Women Leaders in Electronics – Time for change

There has been a notable change in the number of women influencing electronics design and some of the judges for Electronics Weekly’s Women Leaders in Electronics Awards are feeling positive.

“I’ve observed significant transformation influenced by wider societal issues in the people we hire and the technology we build,” says Dr Nicola Thorn, CEO and founder, AND Technology Research. “Moreover, the industry is placing greater emphasis on leveraging technology for good, addressing critical challenges that humanity faces. . . . There is a shift in innovative solutions and female-led startups that contribute to the betterment of society as a whole, which have previously been ignored,” she says.

Nicola is one of the judges on this year’s panel. “Events, such as Women Leaders in Electronics Awards are instrumental in steering change by bringing attention to remarkable accomplishments and providing the role mode for aspiring individuals. . .  This is an opportunity to showcase the achievements of many inspiring women.”
