The open-frame, surface-mount power modules measure 15.2mm x 10.7mm and are 8.0mm high and capable of driving capacitive loads of up to 1000µF. Their size and capacitance make they suitable for applications such as RS-232 bus isolation, and providing bipolar power to isolated DACs, sensors, op-amps, and general industrial automation, control, and test and measurement equipment.
Described as energy efficient and easy to design-in, with no minimum-load requirement, the DC-DC converters consume less than 150mW quiescent power and operate over a specified temperature range of -40°C up to +100°C, at full load without derating.
The modules are certified to safety standard IEC/UL/EN 62368-1, as well as the outgoing 60950-1 standard, to allow OEMs to transition products to meet customer demand. Built-in isolation is rated at 1kVDC/1s. There is an alternative (/H) version which provides higher isolation of 3kVDC/1s.
Dengrove advises users that simply adding an input capacitor can satisfy Class A requirements for EMC compliance, and a simple low cost LC filter is required for EMC compliance for Class B equipment.
