Winner – Filtronic Manufacturer of the Year

Filtronic designs and manufactures RF, microwave and mmWave components and subsystems for applications in telecom, defence, space and transport applications. It is headquartered in County Durham, UK, with UK facilities in Leeds and Manchester and a US manufacturing site.

The judges noted “some impressive developments to improve manufacturing capability” with practical developments producing “impressive improvements”. Some practical developments have resulted in impressive improvements and there were good changes in technical staff.

Another judge described the winner as “an excellent example of a manufacturing company on the forefront of technology and innovation” while another commented on the EDI /sustainability data and the empowerment at [an] individual level. “It feels like a company in control of progress. And in dialogue with users and partners.”
