The EU PREVAIL project to accelerate the development of edge-AI technologies is installing cleanroom tools and gearing up to design, evaluate, test and fabricate new circuits from across Europe.
CEA-Leti, Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, imec and VTT are running the initiative to set up a Testing and Experimentation Facility for Edge-AI Hardware (TEF Edge AI HW to validate edge-AI components and fabricate prototype samples for testing in edge-AI applications.
The consortium is working with selected SMEs, industrial partners and labs to prepare early designs. The project plans to open access widely for EU designers by May 2026.
“The PREVAIL project’s goal is to position Europe with an easy-access, advanced manufacturing infrastructure enabling users to make early research samples and accelerate their commercialisation,” says CEA-Leti’s Sergio Nicoletti.
