The 16nm CMOS device is said to have four 12bit 20Gsample/s ADCs and four 16bit 28Gsample/s DACs – and seems like a faster cousin of the 28nm AD9081 released a few years ago – if anyone at IMS learns more, please comment below.
An input range of dc to 18GHz (Ku band) to goes with the 10GHz instantaneous bandwidth is claimed – there are emerging 6G bands from 7GHz to 15GHz.
On-chip DSP offers a real-time FFT sniffer, full-rate programmable FIR filter, 128tap complex FIR filter, hopping NCOs (numerically-controlled oscillators), digital down-converters, digital up-converters, and a fractional sample rate converter.
The DSP is dynamically-configurable for switching between narrow-band and wide-band profiles without taking down the JESD link, said ADI, adding that JESD 204B/C and VSR (very short reach) interfacing can be supported.
It also hinted of a 16 channel device with eight 8Gsample/s ADCs and eight 16Gsample/s DACs, 16GHz range and 3GHz instantaneous bandwidth. “On-chip DSP offers similar features and functionality to the four-transmit four-receive device, with double the number of digital blocks, all dynamically configurable,” added ADI.
