The “platform uses cutting-edge analytics and machine learning to provide automated incident alerts and previously hidden data insights”, according to Warwick-based infrastructure company Telenet. It “can send incident alerts in real time to station control rooms by using smart cameras and sensors to automatically detect safety incidents at the station and on the tracks”.
Sensors on the cliffs and cameras at the stations are used to identify risks, including unauthorised people on the tracks, which lead to alert signals being sent to a control room, from which trains can be warned.
The system combines Telent’s ‘Mica’ station management system, developed with London Underground and Network Rail, which consolidates communications, fire, security and building management onto a single user interfaces, with a data analysis and data simplification tool called SiYtE from Purple Transform.
“Combining the Telent and Purple Transform platforms simplifies the collection, corelation and visualisation of data and puts insights in front of the right person at the right time,” said Telent. “The combined solution can also transform legacy CCTV cameras into smart sensors capable of machine learning. It integrates wireless IoT sensors and ingests third party data sets to solve problems through AI and data analytics.”
