STMicroelectronics had Q1 revenue of $1.7 billion down 6.6% on Q1 2014 for a loss of $22 million about the same as the $24 million loss of Q1 2014. Gross margin was 33.2%.

Ku-Band MMIC from Cree

Cree has launched a Ku-Band MMIC covering the 13.5 – 14.75GHz commercial satcom band. The 30W GaN MMIC two-stage high power amplifier (HPA) will allow the satcom industry to achieve higher power, more efficient Ku-Band solutions than the TWT or GaAs solutions used today, the company claimed.
