Hedge funds are closing left and right because they cannot beat the performance of index funds. That tells you all you need to know about Artificial Intelligence. AI is the next level of automation. AI can learn tasks and parse vast inventories of data to find common threads of meaning. AI finds new data aggregates sometimes useful and often not. Yet AI is not intelligent enough to know which is which.

AI can learn to perform many mundane mindless tasks of white collar workers. AI can learn to perform repetitive labor tasks. AI can parse the Physicians decision tree better than most. AI can harvest timber and mine for coal. AI can pick cotton, lettuce, oranges, wine grapes, and harvest grain crops. AI is a productivity boon but AI is not intelligent.
