C++ has been a popular general purpose programming language for many years as it offers significant advantages over its C ancestor. Historically, C++ code written for 8-bit and 16-bit microcontrollers was often considered to give inferior results and many embedded software developers continued to use C. However, with the current generation of 32-bit microcontrollers, increasing complexity of applications and enhancements to the C++ standard it is now worth re-evaluating the use of C++.
This webinar will introduce the key features of C++ and show where they provide useful advantages over traditional C approaches while producing code with comparable size and performance. It will take a look at how to start using these features and dispel the myths surrounding them.
