It currently has two dozen engineers and will work on ICs for automotive and industrial markets – initially focussing on sensor ICs for electrified vehicles, green energy, and industrial motors.

“We are very excited to formally open our new R&D centre in Prague.  We were fortunate to hire an excellent team of engineers,” said Allegro v-p of business development Michael Doogue. “We plan to hire an additional 20 to 30 engineers at the centre over the next few years.”

The availability of skilled IC design, systems, and software engineers was a major contributor to Allegro’s decision to open a facility in Prague, said the firm; “The area provides an optimum combination of experienced engineers and recent graduates from local universities. Ant the location also offers excellent amenities, a beautiful view of the city, walking and running trails and a café.”

Allegro is headquartered in New Hampshire and has its European headquarters in Chertsey in the UK. There is also a technical and marketing centre in Heidelberg Germany, and engineering design centre in Edinburgh, and a technical and marketing centre in Annecy France.
