Called Helix 401, it is the smallest of the company’s Helix Series of passively-cooled, fan-less industrial computers.

“Helix 401 balances size and performance while providing a range of configuration possibilities to help users tailor it to their specific application,” said company product manager Mike Walsh. “It’s small enough to fit in your hand, similar in size to Intel’s NUC, but capable enough to drive automation solutions and power smart agriculture, building automation or energy management.”

Being fanless, there is no fan to clog over time or to need replacing.

Processor choice is i3-1220PE, i5-1250PE, i7-1270PE or Celeron 7305E, with up to 64Gbyte of DDR5 memory.

The processors include Intel Iris Xe graphics, and operating system options include Windows 11 Pro 64 Bit, Windows 10 IoT Enterprise, Ubuntu 22.04 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (8.7, 9.1 and future versions).

Interfaces include 6x USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports (4 USB-A, 2 USB-C with Thunderbolt – certification pending), dual 1Gbit LAN ports and dual DisplayPorts, then optional digital IO, configurable COM or CAN bus.

Three M.2 slots cover expansion with 4G and 5G wireless.

Operation is over 0 to 50°C and 12 to 24Vdc, and wall, DIN rail or VESA mounting is possible.
